Innovative passive-house villa
Architecture shaped by energy, light, location and function
Super low energy house.
This innovative villa uses only about 1/10 of normal heating. The house is built as one of the first passive houses in Denmark and combine several sustainable initiatives such as heat recovery, rainwater collection and utilization of passive solar in one architectural whole.
The main innovative functionality in this project lies in the architecture itself & eliminates the disadvantages that normally come with the very thick walls of low energy houses.
A passive house is:
-A house that is so well insulated and energy-optimized, that the savings on heating almost can pay for energy optimization.
-All the rest you save on heating year after year is then pure profit.
-Optimized natural light and AAA appliance's ensures a power consumption that is almost half of normal - (the rest covered by solar cells).
-Optimalt Utilized m2 and centrally located instalation-core, for shorter wiring and less heat loss.
-All ventilation is done through an efficient heat recovery system that ensures both a healthy environment and saves considerably on the heat loss that would otherwise be through ventilation and leaks.
-The Total CO2 and energy savings is very significant - and can passively continue for several generations - thus a passive-house!
This energy-villa in Vejle is built around some simple architectural principles:
Lots of light and air. All accommodations have high windows facing south, both for light, energy and view. It provides spaces that feel bigger than they are, and angles the view, so you do not look straight toward the house next door or into a hedge.
-Roof-construktion With large upward sloping outhang it gives maximum energy and light from the south and protects facades and woodwork.
-Terrain utilized for greater insulation-thickness as an alternative to simply bulldoze the land.
-The auxiliary rooms, as an additional insulating layer around the warm livingroom, kitchen and dining area.
Moreover, there are several things in the project, which are just plain common sense:
-NATURAL, SUSTAINABLE, BREATHABLE MATERIALS WITH AS FEW CHEMICAL ADDITIVES AS POSSIBLE - BOTH FOR MAKING THE BEST POSSIBLE INDOOR-CLIMATE AND THE BEST DURABILITY. -RELATIVELY MAINTENANCE-FREE SURFACES. -HANDICAPED AND ELDERLY FRIENDLY SOLUTIONS.
